I will reference my feats, kindnesses, coherences as merits, but to pin them as ego is to commit to exertion, persona, dialexical coherence. I don't want to impress or gain a repution. If I exhibit a capability, I call that data. Sure, an old man brags about picking up a boulder in his youth. Let him have that. But if you can still do something, just let it be what it is.
It is so standard to pave your lot and lie in it. For what? We have one life, that we can see through a million lenses.
